Doll should sit and stand well at this point. Lets get her shoes done so the painting will be cleared away before the fabric comes out. Wigging is last.
Paint the legs with matte finish acrylic to match your porcelain. (I use Ceramcoat AC Flesh.) For this photo, I used Buttermilk for the shoe. Sole and bottom of heel are in Payne's Grey. When totally dry, glue on hole-less beads. Coat shoe area only with fingernail topcoat for shine and to help hold beads in place. Run a thin line of glue around top of shoe and add Bunka, unraveled, or thread as a finished edge.
Cut out pantalets. Glue edges, form cylinder. Gather lower edge adding lace if desired onto each leg.. Sew or glue two halves. Keep front edge smooth, gather at rear of waistline. Keep garment below waistline.
Cut out petticoat. Finish hem edge and add lace if wished. Glue back seam. Edges overlap to form point. Petticoat is also kept smooth at front and below waistline. Gather at back but do not draw all fabric up to waist. This forms the Bustle! Stitch the back of the petticoat weaving it closed with thread.
Sleeves are finished at the cuff. Roll onto doll's arm, finished edge should be glued onto the inside edge with seam going to rear so it is hidden when arm is down..
Add skirt. Same directions as petticoat. This area will be covered by bodice.
Gather waist. Trim lower edge with Bunka. Turn under armholes and stitch to sleeves. Add sailor collar, trimming lower edge.
Front of bodice is trimmed with front edges folded back to form front collar. Finish top of shoulders and trim front collar.
Add a matching ribbon at the waist and at the front for a tie. I also added an insert of lace in the neckline.
